2 Nepal Army soldiers killed as truck turns turtle in Siraha

LAHAN: Two soldiers lost their life and 14 others sustained injuries when a speeding Nepal Army truck turned turtle at Golbazaar along the East-West Highway in Siraha district on Wednesday late afternoon.

Three of the injured are said to be in a critical condition. They have been airlifted to Kathmandu, while others are admitted to Ram Prasad Uma Memorial Hospital in Lahan for treatment.

The deceased have been identified as NA soldiers Salikram Silwal and Kul Bahadur Gharti, according to the District Police Office.

Carrying food supplies meant for the Gorakh Battalion, the army vehicle was heading towards Choharwa when it met with the fatal accident.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred as the driver lost control over the speeding vehicle at around 5 pm.

KATHMANDU: At least one army man was killed and 12 others were injured as a Nepal Army truck met with an accident near Golbazaar of Siraha district on Wednesday.

Three of the injured are said to be in a critical state.

The truck was ferrying food supplies for the army personnel.
