CHITWAN: A person died and another sustained injuries when a truck hit a motorcycle they were riding on, in Jugedi of Chitwan along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section on Monday.

The accident occurred when the truck (Na 5 Kha 3725) en route to Birgunj from Kathmandu hit the two-wheeler (Ga 12 Pa 7115) coming from the opposite direction in Jugedi, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29, said the District Police Office (DPO).

According to the DPO, biker Krishna Prasad Aryal (53) and pillion rider Indraa Aryal (48), locals of Pokhara Metropolitan City-7 in Kaski district, were injured in the accident.

The injured duo were rushed to a hospital for treatment, but the Indraa succumbed to her injuries on the way, police said. However, the injured rider is undergoing treatment at the Chitwan Medical College.

Police have impounded the truck and arrested the truck driver for further investigation.
