One dead, six injured in Jajarkot jeep accident

JAJARKOT: A child lost his life while six others were injured in a jeep accident at Darimpata in Triveni Nalgad Municipality of Jajarkot district along the Jajarkot-Dolpa road section, early today morning.

The deceased has been identified as four-year-old Vivek Nepali of Aathbiskot Municipality-11 in Rukum district, said the District Police Office, Jajarkot. Mother of the child Laxmi Nepali (23) has been critically injured in the accident.

The incident occurred when the jeep (Ga 1 Ja 5812) fell some 30 to 40 metres below the road and fell into Bheri river at around 4:00 am.

Others injured have been identified as Rajendra BK (22), Tej Bahadur BK, Bharat Pariyar (11), Durgesh Baniya (17), Khima Baniya (16), all residents of Triveni Nalgad Municipality, according to Chief District Officer Lalit Kumar Basnet.

CDO Basnet further informed that the injured are receiving treatment at the District Hospital, Jajarkot.
