BHOJPUR: A bicyclist died and the pillion rider was injured when the bicycle they were riding on, collided with a motorcycle in Biratnagar of Morang district along the Koshi highway on Tuesday evening.

The accident took place in front of the Nepal Oil Corporation building in Biratnagar-4 at around 9:30 pm, according to Eastern Regional Police Office.

The deceased has been identified as Binod Shrestha (45) of Amardaha-7, Morang.

Shrestha had suffered critical injuries in the accident. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Nobel Hospital, Biratnagar, said police.

The injured pillion rider has been identified as Kundan Ram (24) of Biratnagar-6. Ram is undergoing treatment in the same hospital.

Police has impounded the motorcycle and taken the rider in custody.
