CHITWAN: A 13-year-old girl died of scrub typhus in Kalika Municipality-6 of Chitwan district on Monday.

The girl, who was admitted to the Chitwan Medical College on September 13, succumbed to the infection yesterday, said Hospital Director Dr Dayaram Lamsal.

According to Ram KC, Kit Controller at the District Public Heath Office, Chitwan, the number of people who lost their life due to scrub typhus has now reached three.

Earlier, two women had succumbed to the infection at the same facility, KC informed.

A total of 219 patients have tested positive for scrub typhus in Chitwan.
