One dozen houses inundated in Kanchanpur

BHIMDATTANAGAR: Around one dozen houses in Mahakali Municipality of Kanchanpur district have become inundated due to rainfall since Monday.

The flooded Jogbudha river entered Sundarnagar in Mahakali Municipality-8 this morning due to which four residential houses and eight shops have been waterlogged.

According to Area Police Office in Dodhara Chandani, some houses at Kutiyakbar area have also been inundated and the victims have been shifted to safer locations.

Police Inspector Narendra Bahadur Chand said, no human casualty was reported.

He further said that a suspension bridge was at risk due to the swollen river. Locals and police personnel are now constructing a temporary embankment to save the bridge.
