RAJBIRAJ: A man who tried to steal electricity from high voltage line was electrocuted in Khojpur VDC-7  of Saptari district on Sunday, the Rastriya Samachar Samiti reported.

The deceased was 45-year-old Mohammad Jiyaul Miya of Banarjhula VDC-3, the Kalyanpur Area Police Office said.

Miya tried to hook up electricity from the 11 kV power line near his mango orchard at Khojpur but got electric shocks.

With severe burn injuries, he was rushed the Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital. But he breathed his last during the course of treatment, the District Police Office said.
