RAUTAHAT: Police said that they have arrested a man on charge of raping an eight-year old girl in Rautahat on Tuesday.

The suspect has been identified as Bharat Sah (30), a permanent resident of Laxminia VDC-2, Rautahat.

Sah preyed on her on Saturday evening, according to the Rautahat District Police Office.

After the alleged victim's family filed an FIR against the suspect, the Garuda-based Area Police Office arrested him.

The suspect was presented before the Rautahat District Court in Gaur and remanded in custody, according to DSP Nabin Krishna Bhandari.
