‘One house one tap’ programme in Pokhara

Pokhara Drinking Water Corporation is supplying water to 324 households after the installation of the water taps under the ‘one house one tap’ programme in Kalika of Pokhara metropolis.

Locals looked elated after drinking water under the Kalika-Jamune Solar Lifting Drinking Water Project was brought into operation from Monday.

The construction of the drinking water project had started one year ago. Unika Foundation has spent Rs 2.3 million and locals have assisted with Rs 1.1 million for the project.

Krishna Raj Timilsina, assistant president at Nepal Red Cross Society Kaski Chapter, which also has ownership of the project, handed over the project to the Chairman of Kalika Solar Lifting Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers Committee Tej Raj Timilsina on Monday.

Ward Chair of the metropolis Nirmal Diyali said 1,800 families had benefited from the project.
