RAJBIRAJ: A person was killed and four others were injured in separate incidents in Saptari, on Thursday.

A motorcycle accident in Madhupati VDC claimed the life of Dhuran Yadav of Govindapur-2 in Siraha district, who appeared to be in his 40s, according to Kadorbana-based Area Police Office.

The incident occurred when the motorcycle (Sa 1 Pa 2197) heading towards the west collided head-on with a tractor (Na Ta 8430) killing Yadav, along the East-West Highway.

In another incident, four persons including three members of a single family were injured when a truck rammed into an electric pole in Saptakoshi Municipality-4 along the Phattepur-Kanchanpur road stretch on the same day.

The truck (Na 1 Ka 4452) was carrying a cement mixer machine when the incident occurred.

Truck driver Ganesh Chaudhary, his wife Lalita Chaudhary, 10-year-old son Prabhat Chaudhary, and assistant driver Man Kumar Magar, all the residents of Tapeshwari VDC-9 in Udayapur district, were injured in the accident.

Meanwhile, the injured are receiving treatment at a local clinic, Kanchanpur Area Police Office informed.
