LAHAN: One person was killed and at least 24 persons sustained injuries after two buses collided at Michiya Municipality-1 in Siraha district along the East-West Highway on Monday.

According to Siraha District Police Office 37-year-old assistant driver, Nilkamal Shrestha of Katari Municipality-3 of Udayapur District died on the way to the hospital.

Police said the accident occurred after a bus (Na 1 Kha 5067) heading to Katari collided with another bus (Na 4 Kha 8062) heading in opposite direction while trying to overtake.

Meanwhile, the injured have been undergoing treatment at the Mangalam Rekha Nursing Home in the district, according to police.
