KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday arrested a doctor working at the Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj of Saptari district on charge of using fake academic certificate to get the job.

Earlier, under its Operation Quack, the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police, had arrested 12 doctors over the same charge.

The detainee has been identified as Rajendra Prasad Das. He was nabbed from the hospital today.

CIB spokesperson SP Diwas Lohani said Das got an MBBS degree on the basis of a fake intermediate certificate while he actually had not passed the level.

The police official added that Das was being taken to Kathmandu currently.

Further investigation is underway.
