One still missing in Trishuli bus fall

CHITWAN: Police on Wednesday said they were still clueless about a person who has been missing since a passenger bus plunged into the Trishuli River on Tuesday late evening.

A persons was killed while nine others had sustained injuries in the accident at Dahakhani near Riddhikhola, along the Narayangadh-Mugling road section of Chitwan district.

While eight are undergoing treatment at the Bharatpur-based College of Medical Sciences one has been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment, added police.

Meanwhile, police have identified the victim as 36-year-old Janak Mahat, the assistant bus driver, from Tilottama Municipality-20 of Rupandehi district.

Police said Mahat had breathed his last on the way to Bharatpur-based hospital for treatment.

The bus (Lu 1 Kha 7391) heading to Bhairahawa from Kathmandu with 11 persons aboard had plunged into the Trishuli River at around 9 pm yesterday.
