SURUNGA: One more person was swept away by the flooded Mai River in Jhapa.

Bijay Basnet of Shiba Satakshi-9 was swept away by the swollen river, police said.

Basnet had ventured into river to collect fire woods.

With this, the number of people went missing in the river has reached three.

Police have intensified search for him, said DSP Hari Prasad Sharma.

So far 6 people have lost their life to the incidents of flooding in the district.

Police have warned the locals to stay alert and not to go near the swollen river.
