PANCHTHAR: The Panchthar District Court has sentenced a 70-year-old person to 11 years in prison for raping a 15-year old girl.

The convict is Devi Rai of Lungrupa-3 of the district.

The District Court issued the verdict within 15 days of registration of the petition.

The Court has also directed Rai to give Rs 25,000 to the victim as compensation.

The parents of the victim on June 10 had registered a complaint at the District Police Office, Panchthar and the police on June 28 had handed over the case to the Court after carrying out investigations.
