PANCHTHAR: More than a dozen VDCs of Panchthar including the district headquarters Phidim remain cut off from regular power supply after many electricity poles were uprooted by heavy winds and landslides in neighbouring Ilam district.

As a result public life has been hit hard. However, it would still take few more days for power supply to resume, said technician at Nepal Electricity Authority in Paanchthar Umesh Yadav.

It has now become a routine that the people in the district, which would otherwise, not even face power outage to experience the problem during monsoon every year, the local consumers have said.
