Parents, guardians worried

Kavre: The parents and guardians in Kavre are worried about the future of their wards, as there is no sign of opening of boarding schools though academic session started a week ago. They said private schools have not clarified whether they will resume classes or not. This confusion arose after the Maoists distributed pamphlets and pasted posters warning private schools’ proprietors not to run schools. Advertisements for new admission used to be common

since early March in the previous years but this time no more than half-a-dozen schools have decided to enroll students. The Maoists have exerted much pressure in rural schools by sending threatening letters and asking villagers not to send their children to those schools. —HNS
