INARUWA, OCTOBER 17

Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal Upendra Yadav said the country could be prosperous once all citizens participated in state affairs.

During a meeting of his party's cadres here today, Yadav said the country's resources should be utilised well for development.

Yadav reminded that when he visited abroad as foreign minister, he realised that Nepal had more potential for development than other countries. "Modernisation of agriculture with its commercialisation, production of hydropower and promotion of Nepali tourism abroad could be the foundation for development."

He argued that the constitution should be amended.

The need to amend the constitution was voiced after its promulgation, he reminded, adding that only amendment of the constitution would ensure the welfare of all Nepalis.
