Parties padlock govt offices

MAHOTTARI: Service seekers were affected after the six political parties padlocked all the government offices in the district headquarters today. The protesters have alleged police of using force in their peaceful demonstration.

Raja Mandal of Bhataulia-4 lamented that he could not get his work done at the Land Revenue Office as a group of demonstrators barged into the office and forced to shut the office.

CPN-UML, Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum, Nepal Sadbhhawana Party-Anandidevi among others padlocked the office. They alleged that police under the direction of Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari used unnecessary force in their demonstrations at Aurahi VDC on November 10. They have been demanding action against the SP Krishna Prasad Gautam and resignation of the minister.

Earlier, locals had vandalised a police vehicle and manhandled policemen deployed in the election of school management committee of a public school in Aurahi on October 21.The political parties have been agitating after the police detained local Rajaram Yadav and filed public offence case against him.
