Parties paying no heed to people's mandate: Prachanda
SURKHET: Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' today said that other political parties were neglecting the people's mandate.
Speaking at a mass meeting organised by Joint National People's Movement in Surkhet, Prachanda said he was on a tour of different places throughout the country to make people aware of their supremacy.
"If other parties continued disrespecting the people's spirit, then the people themselves will roar like a lion to establish their supremacy in the country," the Maoist supremo warned.
Claiming that it was the Maoists not Nepali Congress or UML who initiated the peace process, he added, "Now, we have the responsibility to bring it to the logical conclusion.''
The Maoist supremo also accused other political parties of hatching conspiracies to foil the peace process. "But we will not spare those who goes against the peace process and constitution drafting process."
He also spent most of his time on taking constant potshots at the UML-led government.
According to Prachanda, he was just visiting different parts of the country in order to collect the people's view. He said that the weapons of Nepali Army and Maoist army should be used as per the people's verdict to establish peoples' supremacy in the country.
Stating that the Nepali people are yet to be victorious, he claimed that their party was working for the same.
"Nepali people will win only after Madhesi, Dalit, women, Muslim and people of all ethnic communities are provided with their rights," he claimed.
Prakash too sees conspiracies
NEPALGUNJ: Deputy chairman of UCPN-Maoist Narayankaji Shrestha 'Prakash' today said that those who were against people's supremacy were in favour of military regime. Speaking at a training programme organised by Tharuwan Rajya Samiti at Khajura of Banke, Shrestha said, "People won't leave the political parties that are advocating the supremacy of the army to the people in the country.'' He also warned that they would perish anybody in case they tried to obstruct the people's movement.
Prakash also claimed that conspiracies were being hatched to impose military rule by not drafting the new constitution in stipulated time. "The government is attempting to disrupt the peace process.''
He directed the party cadres to stay alert to protest against the military rule. He also came down heavily on the UML-led coalition alleging the latter for weakening the nationality by acting as per the directives of foreign forces. — HNS
