Death toll in Ramche bus accident jumps to 10

KATHMANDU: After police recovered five more bodies, the death toll in Ramche bus accident jumped to 10.

One of the victims has been identified as three-year-old Nira Tashi Ghale of Goljung VDC, Rasuwa.

The identities of others are yet to be established.

KATHMANDU: At least five persons including a child died and 31 others were injured when a passenger bus met with an accident at Ramche-4 of Rasuwa on Tuesday.

According to the District Police Office, Rasuwa, there were as many as 40 persons on board the ill-fated bus (Na 3 Kha 5706) when the incident occurred.

Police said that four persons died on the spot and one breathed his last while being rushed to a hospital.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

A local from the district headquarters Dhunche told THT Online that the death toll may exceed 30. "I have heard that only three persons among the passengers survived," she said, though she was not certain about the number.

The injured are receiving treatment at the District Hospital Rasuwa.

Among the injured, five are said to be in critical condition.

Police informed that preparations are underway to take them to Kathmandu for treatment.

The cause of the accident has been attributed to the narrow road.

Passenger bus meets with accident in Ramche of Rasuwa

KATHMANDU: A passenger bus met with an accident at Ramche of Rasuwa district on Tuesday.

The bus was heading towards Rasuwa from Kathmandu when the incident occurred.

It has been learned that the bus was jam-packed with passengers on the roof, too.

Details about the incident are yet to come, the District Police Office, Rasuwa, informed.
