Two killed in Sunsari ambulance-tractor collision

INARUWA: Two persons including a patient were killed as an ambulance collided with a tractor on Saturday night at Simariya of Sunsari.

The tractor (Ko 1 Ta 189) heading towards Inaruwa from Duhabi and an ambulance (Sa 1 Cha 894) rushing a patient to Biratnagar from Siraha's Golbazaar had collided at Simariya–2 along the Inaruwa–Duhabi road stretch, police said.

The deceased have been identified as ambulance driver Ananda Shrestha (27) of Golbazaar–1 and patient Saroj Yadav (30) of Siraha–10. Both had died on the spot.

In the mishap, Santosh Yadav, Shiva Ganesh Yadav, Sanjeet Yadav and Papu Yadav were seriously injured.

They are receiving treatment at the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar, Police Inspector Shiva Kumar Pokharel of Area Police Office, Duhabi said.

The bodies have been kept at the District Hospital in Inaruwa for postmortem.
