SURUNGA, JHAPA: A pedestrian died after he was hit by a passenger bus in Kankai Municipality-1 along the East-West Highway of Jhapa district on Saturday night.

The deceased who appears to be in his early thirties is yet to be identified, informed District Traffice Police Office, Jhapa.

According to police, the unidentified man was critically injured after the Matri Bhagyarekha bus ( Me 1 Kha 2283) heading in eastward direction hit him last night.

The injured man succumbed to his injuries on the way to Mechi Zonal Hospital, informed Police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
