Petrol bomb hurled at Nawalparasi radio station, broadcasting shut
NAWALPARASI: An unidentified gang on Wednesday night hurled a petrol bomb at the Community Radio Parasi office in Parasi of Nawalparasi district.
The building sustained significant damages in the incident while the radio station shut its services indefinitely after the attack.
The Radio's Managing Director Meghraj Gautam said the broadcasting could not be continued as the station received frequent security threats following the attack.
The explosive had gone off at around 10 pm yesterday while the station closed its services since this morning.
The attackers also torched a motorbike (Lu 18 Pa 4001) parked at the office.
Gautam informed that he had received a threat from the mobile number 9857045894 over a news story broadcast by the radio.
Nawalparasi Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Mainali said police in the district are looking into the case.
He hoped that the culprits be nabbed soon.
Various media organisations of the district have condemned the attack.
