Phone service goes haywire

Biratnagar, July 25:

Failure in a repeater tower’s radio link caused by incessant rainfall disrupted some 3,000 telephone lines in the Sagarmatha zone. The disruption has hit hard Okhaldhunga as 735 telephone lines were out of order in the district. Okhaldhunga branch manager at the NTC office, Man Bahadur Adhikari, said the repeater tower at Chitre in the district failed and radio link was disconnected due to the rainfall on Saturday. A total of 3,000 telephone lines in Udayapur, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu were disrupted.
