Piggy bank campaign to instal cable car

Dipayal, February 11

Piggy bank campaign was launched to collect budget for installation of cable car at the tourism hub of the far western region of Khaptad today.

During a festival in Dipayal of Doti in Province 7 today, Doti Dipayal Silgadi Municipality 4 ward Chair Birendra Shah inaugurated the campaign of collecting Rs 10 per head for the project. “There were several rounds of talks involving government and non-government sectors to operate the cable car in Khaptad in the past. However, nobody took any initiative for the same. Hence, we devised the idea of operating the car ourselves,” said Shah.

He was confident that the Khaptad region would develop a lot better only if the cable car project succeeded.

Shah, a former chairperson of Doti Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said this campaign would be implemented in all the districts of the province. “We are developing coordination with the folks of other districts as well. We will extend the programme to all the districts of Province 7,” he said.

Shah had formally launched the campaign by dropping Rs 10 in a piggy bank.
