MORANG: An elderly woman died after a passenger bus hit a motorcycle at Hattimudha-8 along the Koshi Highway in Morang on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Ambika Devi Adhikari (65) of Dharan-15 in Sunsari district.

According to police, the bus (Na 5 Kha 6584) en route to Itahari from Biratnagar hit the motorcycle (Ko 5 Pa 1525) from behind. Pillion rider Adhikari died on the spot.

The motorcyclist Khem Chaudhary (32) of Kankai-3, Jhapa has sustained injuries in the incident.

Nimua Area Police Office has impounded the bus and arrested its driver for further investigation.
