PLA fighter, aide held for attacking, looting vendors
NUWAKOT: A PLA combatant of Shaktikhor cantonment in Chitwan, with the help of his non-combatant friend, attacked and injured two persons with khukuris at Panera in Samari VDC of Nuwakot yesterday.
The victims, Rup Narayan Yadav and Nandalal Raya of Sarlahi - both vendors, who had reached the village selling clothes, were attacked after they refused to give in to the attackers’ demand to give them T-shirts for free-of-cost. Following the incident, the assailants - PLA fighter Buddhe Tamang of Samari VDC-5 and Durga Bahadur Tamang of Ward No 7 - also robbed the two of their cash and clothes. Budhe had come home on leave from the Maoist camp a few days ago.
Victim Yadav said the attackers took away more than Rs 10,000 and several clothes after attacking them with khukuri. Basu Khadka, sub-inspector at the local Samari Police Post, said the victims sustained injuries on their limbs and other body parts. They are undergoing treatment in Trishuli Hospital.
According to him, the assailants have been arrested and sent to District Police Office for further investigation.
