Damak, April 26:

The Company commander of Ilam-based headquarters of Maoists’ People’s Liberation Army (PLA) first division in Chulachuli, Bishal Ghimire, died in a road mishap last night here.

“Ghimire, who was heading to the PLA headquarters on his motorbike from Damak, died when his motorbike hit a buffalo near the Sitapuri Chowk in Kerkha village development committee of Jhapa,” the Damak Area Police Office said.

“Ghimire, a resident of Bhojpur, died while undergoing treatment in the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Science,” police said, adding that a pillion rider, Durendra Rai, sustained minor injuries.
