Plot against statute

Gorkha: Unified CPN-Maoist vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Tuesday claimed that conspiracy was being hatched in the Constituent Assembly to thwart the timely promulgation of the new constitution. Stating that only 100 days remained for drafting the new statue, he said, "Some political parties are upsetting the statute-drafting process but our party is in favour of a timely constitution." Dr Bhattarai made the remarks at a function organised to mark the golden jubilee of Annapurna Higher Secondary School at Khoplang in the district. Bhattarai accused the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and others of being against the writing a statute as per the aspiration of the people. He, however, claimed his party would promulgate the new statute through people's movement if the CA failed to do so. Meanwhile, emphasising equal opportunity for all, Bhattarai said, "There should be no discrimination in education between the rich and the poor." He also claimed his party would make 10+2 education free of cost in the country and provide scholarship to poor students.
