PM appeals for participation of all in feedback collection for statute

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala appealed to all citizens to actively participate in the campaign to collect feedback on the first draft of constitution.

On the eve of constituency-level interaction programmes to collect feedback on the statute draft across the nation, the Prime Minister said feedback collection before the statute promulgation is a modern and democratic practice.

The Constituent Assembly (CA) is organising interaction programmes across the nation on Monday and Tuesday to collect feedback from members of the public.

"The historical wish of Nepali people to make the constitution on their own is being realised after nearly a century-long struggle and political ups and downs," he said, "I appeal to all Nepali brothers and sisters living in the nation and abroad to take part in this grand campaign."

While maintaining that some provisions of the draft may be inconsistent as it was the document of consensus among various parties, he also asked public to put their views on various issues.

"I have hoped that those who disagree with any provision will suggest for amendments," he added.
