Pokhara police clueless about teenage girl's murder

POKHARA: Police in Pokhara have failed to identify murderers of a 19-year-old girl, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances three days ago.

The body of Yoruna Pun aka Neha from Nayagaun of the city was found half-naked around 400 metres away her home on Tuesday morning.

Police in these three and half days detained more than 20 persons in connection to the case for interrogation, yet are still clueless to crack the mystery.

Her postmortem report from the Western Regional Hospital had found that the body had injuries on head.

According to SP Hari Bahadur Pal, Chief of Kaski District Police Office, the woman's uterus has been sent to Kathmandu to check whether she had been raped.

A team led by DSP Gajusiddhi Bajraharya has been actively investigating into the case, he added.

The locals had also organised a rally against the concerned authorities' failure to identify and punish the culprit at the earliest.

Pun was also an actor in various Magar language films. She had debuted as a supporting actor in the film 'Gaaula' at the age of 15.

She always dreamed of being an artiste and aimed to preserve the Magar culture through films, the family informed.
