Police arrest absconding poacher from Hetaunda

HETAUNDA: Police arrested a man absconding for five years on the allegation of poaching rhino, from Hetaunda, headquarters of Makwanpur district, on Friday.

The arrestee has been identified as Rabi Shrestha (53), a resident of Sanopokhari in Hetaunda sub-Metropolitan City-5.

According to the Makawanpur District Police Office, the police team deployed from the DPO had arrested Shrestha in compliance with a verdict of Chitwan National Park on August 29, 2010.

He was absconding after the verdict, which observed that Shrestha was involved in trade of rhino horns after poaching the wild animals.

Police further said Shrestha was sent to the Chitwan National Park for further investigation.
