Police arrest consumer committee member in Dhading

Police in Dhading today arrested a road construction consumer committee member who was trying to decamp with the committee fund.

Police arrested Ram Bahadur Tamang, a member of Akthali-Phyaja Village Road Construction Consumer Committee of Khaniyabas Rural Municipality from Nagdhunga, Kathmandu.

After consumer committee Chair Kanchha Tamang, who was with Tamang, cashed a cheque from a bank in the district headquarters today, Tamang had snatched the money, Rs 1.28 million, from the chairperson’s hand and fled. After the incident, the consumer committee chair had filed a complaint with the police.
