Wife among five held for killing Mahottari man
MAHOTTARI: Police on Tuesday made public a woman, along with four others, for her alleged involvement in the murder of her husband.
The police paraded Jyoti Mishra (22)—wife of the deceased Anjani Kumar Mishra—of Sangrampur in Hatisarwa-8, Firoj Kawari (31) of Dharmapur-6, Tufan Ansari (37) of Dhamaura-1, Gangaram Das (44) of Bagada-7 and Kuber Raut (29) of Mahottari VDC-7.
Jyoti is the second wife of Anjani Kumar while Kuber is his uncle-in-law.
A preliminary investigation showed that some illicit relationship and property issues to be the factors behind the murder.
Mishra had returned home three months ago after working abroad. He was hacked to death at 8 pm on January 13, police said.
A special team of police had arrested the accused from their houses with the support of the local villagers. They were made public 10 days after the murder.
Police investigation also showed that Firoj and Tufan were known hit men, notorious for kidnapping, robbery, extortion and murder, informed Inspector Rabindra Khanal of the Mahottari District Police Office.
