Mahendranagar, April 16:

Police entered houses in Bagwani area and beat up locals while they were observing the lackout called by the Sahakarmi Abhiyan Daily and Civic Campaign for Peace and Democracy today.

According to locals, half a dozen houses in Bagwani were raided by the police who manhandled the inmates. Police sneaked in while the blackout programme was underway. Half a dozen security men sneaked into the house of Bir Bahadur Malla and beat him up. Two students, Ganesh Saud and Surendra Bohara, living as tenants on the rooftop of Durga Karki, were also beaten up.
