Police personnel mobilised to kill leopard

BAITADI: Residents of Tallosorad in Baitadi have been terrified after a marauding leopard attacked and killed two children in the locality recently.

In the recent five years, as many as 22 people were killed in leopard attacks in the area, the locals worried.

The rampage has gone to the extent that a team of 17 police personnel equipped with arms has been deployed to kill the leopard.

"A search has been launched for the wild animal from Saturday. Efforts are on to kill the animal in coordination with the locals," said Inspector Kamal Bista.

This is not the first time the leopard entered and attacked the locals.

Moreover, a team of 15 armed police personnel was deployed to kill the animal following the killings of children in the locality.

More than 22 people were killed in leopard attacks in areas like Kulau, Bishalpur, Aamchaura, Mahakali, Pancheshwor, Sharmali and Udayadev VDCs, said police.
