MUGU: The police posts which were destroyed during the decade-long Maoist insurgency are yet to be reconstructed.

A number of police posts including six area police offices are awaiting reconstruction and repair in the district. As the buildings have not been repaired, security personnel find it tough to accommodate themselves in the shaky buildings.

The District Police Office

has been housed in a rented building. The DPO pays

Rs 18,000 as rent for the building, DSP Tika Bahadur KC said. The posts in Sukadhik, Shrikot, Kalai, Sorukot, Pulu and Pina are awaiting reconstruction.

Area Police Office, Gamgadhi, has been stationed in the building of Karmachari Milan Kendra, Chain Area Police Office is operating from Dharmashala of Chhayakshetra Temple and Pulu Police Post from Pulu VDC building.

“We have been facing difficulties in arranging logistics,” DSP KC said.
