Police promise good service

Rajbiraj, February 14

Saptari’s Bode Barsain Area Police Office has got a new building to operate from.

The government of the United Kingdom had helped in the construction of the building. The two-and-half-storey building built by the Department for International Development of the UK government was handed over to the police office at a function today.

UNOPS programme coordinator and former senior superintendent of police Indra Prasad Neupane handed over the key of the building to the APO Chief Assistant Sub-inspector Dipendra Bahadur Basnet today.

The new building has 17 fully furnished rooms, including office, separate detention centres for male and female, barracks, kitchen, latrines and meeting halls. Speaking at the function today, SP Mukesh Kumar Singh expressed confidence that the new building would be instrumental in ensuring better service delivery.

“Lack of a good place to operate from has compromised the quality of our service, but that won’t happen from now on,” he said.

Bode Barsain Mayor Aatesh Kumar Singh Yadav, Ward No 5 Chairperson Majebur Rahman of the municipality and others were also present on the occasion.
