RAJBIRAJ: An elderly person died after being hit by a motorcycle ridden by a policeman in Saptari district on Wednesday.

Police said Munar Sah (60) of Malekpur-3 of the district died after the Head Constable Birendra Kumar Yadav's bike (Sa 2 Pa 2881) hit him.

Yadav, a resident of Khadakpur-7, is currently deployed at the Sagarmatha Zonal Police Office.

Sah had sustained severe injuries in the incident and was rushed to the Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment, on Thursday.

DSP Dan Bahadur Karki informed that they have arrested the Head Constable and impounded the vehicle for further investigations.
