'Agreement if amendment bill is put on hold'

MYAGDI: CPN-UML Secretary Pradeep Gyawali today said political agreement could be reached if the disputed Constitution amendment bill registered at the Legislature-Parliament was put on hold.

Gyawali stated so at a press conference held by the Press Chautari Myagdi chapter in Beni.

"If the government decides to move on with the election bill instead, environment for the Constitution's implementation will be created in the backdrop of political understanding," he added.

Gyawali said the UML would launch a Mechi-Mahakali campaign for national and social unity if efforts were made to disintegrate the country and disrupt social harmony on the pretext of Constitution amendment.

He added that the amendment proposal registered at the Parliament through 'inappropriate manner' would not be passed.
