Political meddling bane of public institutions: Chief Minister Gurung

Gandaki Province Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung today said political meddling had jeopardised most of the public institutions and corporations.

Addressing the 11th conference of Sahara Club Pokhara in the Lake City, Chief Minister Gurung said that corporations and institutions that were free of political interference had made progress. “Sahara Club is operating without political interference and it has done exemplary work in the sports sector,” he added.

He said the province government had provided an assistance of Rs 5 million and Rs 10 million respectively to Himalayan Eye Hospital and SOS Child Village located in Pokhara for their exemplary work.

Gurung announced that the province government would bear the annual cost of Rs 3 million required for 24 junior players at Sahara Academy.

He also stressed on the need to work wholeheartedly to usher in prosperity and development in the country.
