HETAUNDA: Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav said the elections at local, provincial and federal levels would be possible only through an understanding among major political parties.

Inaugurating the new building of the District Election Office, Makawanpur in Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-5 today, CEC Yadav said the government had been already informed about the need to formulate election-related laws in order to hold the elections.

"It is difficult to fix the election date until the House endorses the election-related acts and laws," he added.

On the occasion, District Election Officer Govinda Prasad Paudel said the construction of a two-storey and 13-room building cost Rs 12.4 million and the government bore the cost.

According to him, updating of voters' name list was underway in the district.
