Poll deferral flayed
Surkhet chapter of the CPN-UML staged a rally protesting postponement of the constituent assembly polls in Birendranagar on Saturday. Addressing a corner assembly, UML Bheri zonal committee member and former minister Yam Lal Kandel blamed the Maoists’ 22-point charter of demands for the poll deferral.
Another UML leader, Rishi Prasad Sharma, stressed the need of pressuring the seven political parties to hold polls at the earliest. Student leader Tekendra Basnet accused the Nepali Congress and the Maoists of poll postponment.
