KATHMANDU:

Three major international donors have jointly approved a grant of Rs 10.5 million to the General Election Observation Committee (GEOC) for conducting national observation of the November 22 Constituent Assembly (CA) elections. The GEOC is a coalition of prominent civil society organisations, which will mobilise long and short-term observers to the polling stations to examine the conduct of the political parties, election officials, voters and others, and assess the extent to which the elections are conducted in a free and fair manner, stated a press release issued on Friday.
