Nepathya leaves Damak audience spellbound

KATHMANDU: Nepali folk-rock band, Nepathya, has concluded their concert in Damak of Jhapa district on Friday as part of their silver-jubilee celebration.

More than 5000 audience from various places across Nepal including Birtamode, Bhadrapur, Dharan and Biratnagar among others had gathered to witness the 25-year celebration of the folk-rock band that is going to take place throughout this year.

Before the concert, Nepathya frontman Amrit congratulated the speculated next Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from the stage and wished he would lead the next stable government as per people’s mandate and deliver a much needed stability to the nation.

After screening two Nepathya videos, the band started the show with their new unreleased number Kuroop Anuhar.

The synchronised light choreography, which started the show, was a welcome delight for the audience waiting for the band’s performance.

“Amrit dai has become an idol for young people like us,” said an audience, Dr Swotantra Gautam. “Nepathya show is like a festival, one would not want to miss it.”

Another audience who had travelled a distance to be at the show was Harish Agrawal. “I have been attracted to Nepali music for a few years through Nepathya,” said Agrawal. “I am glad to see them in my home district.” He added. Harish travelled from Bhadrapur to attend the show.

A grade-X student of Damak Kristina Basnet expressed her love for the band. “I love everything Amrit dai sings. I feel Nepathya resembles me and my feelings. This makes them special,” she added.

The next concert of Nepathya would be organised in Narayanghat on January 15, which also coincides with the Maghe Sangranti festival.
