KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha 'Prakash' called on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the latter's residence this evening. "It is just a follow up meeting,” Prakash said. Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' had met President Yadav along with Shrestha on November 26.

Prakash said that the President had invited him to discuss the protracted political deadlock in the country. The President also reiterated the he was ready to act positively as per the constitution if the major parties came up with consensus so as to give a way out of the political deadlock, he added.

Prakash said Dr Yadav had requested the UCPN-M to take initiation to find solution to the current crisis. Meanwhile, Prakash claimed that the major political parties would come to a consensus within a few days.
