Premature child stuns docs

KATHMANDU: A male child was born at the Om Hospital and Research Centre three months ahead of the Expected Delivery Date (EDD) recently.

Dr Hari Kishore Shrestha, managing director of the hospital, said survival of the premature child is the first ever case in the history of the hospital.

He added that the child could adapt successfully to the external environment.

The doctor said that premature child normally can not adapt to new environment and eventually die.

Talking to The Himalayan Times, he said that the child was born two month ago and weighed 840 gram at birth.

The managing director said that the boy would be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.
