NAWALPARASI: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has arrived in Lumbini on Friday.

President Bhandari is scheduled to offer puja at Lumbini for few hours before leaving for Tilaurakot and Ramgram to inspect Buddhist Stupas today itself.

President Bhandari arrived here on the eve of Buddha Jayanti.

The county has been organising various programmes since Thursday to mark the 2560th Buddha Jayanti.

President Bhandari is scheduled to stay at Butwal-based Nepal Army's No 22 Brigade, said Purna Prasad Dhakal, a Major at the Bajradal Battalion, Nawalparasi.

President Bhandari will inaugurate the main ceremony of the 2560th Buddha Jayanti to be organised in Lumbini on Saturday.
