RAMPUR, PALPA: A pressure cooker bomb exploded near Ganesh temple at Bhagawati block of Tansen in Palpa district on Tuesday morning.

The explosion came in the wake of the nationwide general strike called by Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist.

Police suspect the party's cadres to be behind the explosion, but they are yet to find any pamphlets or notices at the site of the explosion.

District Police Office, Palpa, has stated that human casualties and physical damages were spared in the sudden explosion today.

Investigation into the explosion has been launched, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Hariraj Wagle.
